Sometimes the tech feels like more hassle than it’s worth, but when it all comes together, it genuinely elevates the space.

Had a client who insisted on the full RGB setup—every room, every bulb. Looked cool for about a week, then they called me back asking how to just get “normal” light for reading. I get the appeal, but honestly, half the time folks just want something simple and reliable. Those app glitches you mentioned? Yeah, I’ve seen more than a few folks just give up and use the wall switch.

Honestly, I get where you’re coming from, but I’ve seen some folks really love the flexibility. Had a project last year where the family used scenes for everything—movie night, dinner, even just winding down. Maybe it’s more about finding the right balance? Sometimes less is more, but sometimes the tech actually sticks.

I’ve seen both sides too. Some folks get overwhelmed by all the options, but honestly, when you set up a few key scenes, it just works. I’ve built homes where people swear by their “goodnight” button—saves them time and hassle. It’s about using the tech to fit your habits, not the other way around. Sometimes a little automation goes a long way, especially if you’ve got a busy household.

Totally agree—once you dial in those scenes, it’s a game changer. I usually recommend folks start with just one or two routines, like “goodnight” or “movie time.” Keeps things simple and avoids that overwhelm. Over time, you can layer in more if it feels right. I’ve seen people try to automate every little thing right away and end up frustrated... sometimes less is more, especially at first.

- Couldn’t agree more about starting simple.
- I tried to set up like five routines at once... big mistake.
- Now I just use “chill mode” for evenings and “wake up” for mornings—way less stress.
- Honestly, it’s wild how much easier it is to tweak things once you’re not overwhelmed.
- Less is definitely more, at least until you get the hang of it.
