I've had mixed experiences with smart bulbs overall. Tried Hue and LIFX, and while the colors and brightness were impressive, I found the app dependency a bit frustrating. Ended up switching to smart switches instead—simpler setup, fewer glitches, and still energy-efficient... just something to consider.
Smart switches definitely simplify things—no more fumbling with apps just to turn on the lights. I've got a few installed myself, and they've been pretty reliable. But I still keep a couple smart bulbs around for mood lighting or accent colors... nice to have options. Curious though, did you find the switch installation straightforward, or did you run into any wiring headaches?
• Smart switches are def convenient, but installation isn't always as smooth as advertised...
• My place had some older wiring—ended up having to double-check neutrals and grounds. Not exactly rocket science, but a bit of a headache anyway.
• Still skeptical about smart bulbs tho. Had one randomly reset itself at 3 a.m.—felt like a poltergeist moved in overnight.
• But yeah, mood lighting is tempting...maybe I'll give bulbs another shot eventually.
• Smart bulbs can def be quirky—had a client whose lights kept randomly cycling colors mid-dinner party... awkward but kinda hilarious.
• Curious if anyone's had better luck with specific brands or setups?

Haha, yeah, I've seen similar issues. From my experience, Philips Hue bulbs paired with their own hub tend to be pretty stable. Most quirks I've encountered were when bulbs relied solely on Wi-Fi connections—especially if the network was crowded or spotty. Zigbee-based setups seem more reliable overall, though they're pricier. Still, even the best setups occasionally have their moments... keeps things interesting, I guess.
