Lighting tweaks made my workspace way better

Totally agree on diffused LEDs—huge improvement for me too. A couple other things that helped:

- Added a matte desk pad to reduce reflections from overhead lights.
- Switched to warmer color temps (around 2700K)... less eye strain, especially at night.
- Played around with lamp height—higher lamps seemed easier on my eyes.

Still tweaking things, but it's getting there.

Interesting points, but honestly, warmer lights around 2700K didn't really work for me. Felt a bit too cozy and sleepy, especially during daytime when I needed to stay alert. Instead, I found that adjustable bulbs (around 3500-4000K) gave me a good balance—bright enough to keep me awake without causing eye strain. Also, instead of raising lamps higher, I angled mine slightly away from my screen... cheaper fix and worked surprisingly well.

Good call on angling the lamps—simple tweaks like that can make a huge difference. For me, adjustable bulbs were a game changer too, but I actually prefer slightly warmer tones (around 3000K) even during the day. Keeps things comfortable without putting me to sleep. Also found that mixing in some natural daylight helps balance things out nicely... though I admit, my plant collection might be influencing my lighting choices just a bit.

I've found warmer bulbs helpful too, especially in the evenings. Funny enough, I stumbled onto my ideal setup by accident—had a bulb burn out and temporarily swapped in a warmer one from the living room. Ended up loving it. Curious if anyone's tried smart bulbs for dynamic color shifts throughout the day?

Ha, that's exactly how I discovered warmer lighting too. Haven't tried smart bulbs yet though—mostly because of the cost. Instead, I picked up some cheap dimmer switches online and installed them myself. Took maybe half an hour, and now I just manually adjust brightness depending on time of day. Not as fancy as dynamic color shifts, but it does the trick for me without breaking the bank.
