Lanterns at dusk and a mysterious visitor

Last night I was outside fiddling with those little lantern things I put along my driveway, you know, the ones that give off that soft glow when the sun dips down. Anyway, as I'm adjusting one that keeps flickering, I swear I saw someone standing at the end of the street. Tall figure, long coat maybe? Couldn't really tell. But when I looked again, poof, gone. Kinda gave me chills. Wonder who - or what - it was...

That does sound pretty eerie. Do you usually notice people walking around your street at that hour, or was this a one-off thing? I mean, sometimes our eyes can play tricks on us, especially when we're focused on something else - like fiddling with those lanterns you mentioned. By the way, kudos for setting those up; soft lighting along a driveway always gives off such a cozy vibe.
Have you asked any neighbors if they've seen anything similar lately? Sometimes chatting with others nearby can help clear things up - or at least reassure you that you're not the only one who's experienced something odd. A few years back, I had a similar experience when I was working late in my backyard garden. Thought I saw someone standing near the fence line. Freaked me out enough to check with my neighbor the next day. Turns out he'd been taking late-night walks because he couldn't sleep. Mystery solved, thankfully.
Anyway, hopefully it was just shadows playing tricks or someone harmless passing by quickly. Either way, it's totally understandable to feel a bit unsettled after something like that happens. Maybe keep an eye out for the next couple nights and see if anything else unusual pops up?
