Finally got the green light on my refinance—did you know credit inquiries within a short time window usually count as just one hit on your credit score?

Learned that little gem today, kinda surprised me. Curious if anyone else has stumbled across similar interesting tidbits...

That's interesting—I actually learned something similar when shopping around for mortgage rates last year. I was initially hesitant to apply with multiple lenders because I assumed each inquiry would ding my credit separately. Turns out, as long as they're within a certain timeframe (I think it's usually around 14-45 days, depending on the scoring model?), they count as just one inquiry. Definitely eased my mind a bit.

On a related note, has anyone noticed if this applies similarly when shopping for home insurance quotes? I've heard mixed things about whether multiple insurance inquiries within a short period impact your credit score differently than mortgage or auto loan inquiries. Curious if anyone has experience or insight on that front...
