Under-eave vents: aluminum vs. vinyl, which holds up better?

Been looking into replacing the under-eave vent panels on my house and I'm stuck between aluminum and vinyl. Aluminum seems sturdier but I've heard it can dent easily if you're not careful. Vinyl, on the other hand, seems easier to maintain but I'm worried about it getting brittle over time, especially with sun exposure. Anyone have experience with either type? Curious to hear what others prefer and why.
