Honestly, I’ve always wondered if those thorny bushes really do much or just give you more yard work. They look nicer than bars, sure, but I’d worry about the maintenance—especially if you’ve got pets or kids running around. I’m a bit skeptical about dummy cameras, too... wouldn’t a determined thief spot a fake? I get the appeal of motion lights though—nothing gets my heart racing like a random floodlight at 2 a.m. when it’s just a raccoon. Has anyone tried those door sensors you can DIY with magnets? Curious if that’s actually reliable or just more hassle than it’s worth.

I actually tried those DIY magnetic door sensors in my last apartment—super cheap, but honestly, they’d go off if the wind rattled the door just right. Ended up taping one so it’d stop beeping at 3 a.m. Have you ever looked into those peel-and-stick window alarms? I’m curious if they’re any less finicky.
