We're finally getting around to redoing our living room and kitchen, but honestly, I'm kinda overwhelmed by all the choices. Has anyone worked with a designer they really liked or have tips on picking someone good?

I totally get that feeling—when we redid our kitchen, the sheer number of options for cabinets alone was dizzying. We considered hiring a designer but ultimately went DIY because we enjoy the process (mostly!). One thing I wondered about though: how do you balance your own style preferences with a designer's recommendations? Curious if anyone found it tricky to keep their personal vision intact while working with a professional.
