It’s funny, I’ve had clients who treat their butcher block like a family heirloom—one even joked it was her “Sunday spa day” for the counters. The beeswax and oil combo definitely gives it a richer look, and I think it helps with water resistance too. Concrete’s always struck me as a bit clinical, unless you really warm it up with wood accents or softer lighting. There’s just something about the tactile feel of wood that makes a kitchen feel like the heart of a home.
