I've been debating getting a refurb nailer myself, but stories like yours make me hesitate. Seems like it's hit or miss depending on who does the refurbishing. Speaking of battery issues, do you guys think keeping batteries indoors overnight during winter is enough, or should I invest in some kind of insulated storage for the garage? I'm new to this and don't wanna ruin expensive batteries right off the bat...

Indoors overnight usually does the trick—I’ve been doing it for years without issues. But if your garage gets seriously cold (like below freezing consistently), an insulated storage box might save you some headaches down the road. Batteries hate extreme temps, especially lithium-ion ones. I've had a couple die prematurely from neglecting this, so might be worth the extra step if your winters are harsh.

I've been wondering about this too, especially since my garage dips pretty low in winter. Indoors overnight works fine for me, but I always worry about forgetting them inside when I'm rushing out the door in the morning. Has anyone tried one of those insulated battery storage setups in their garage? Curious if they're actually convenient enough to justify the cost...

Looked into these myself last winter, but honestly, the price tag made me hesitate. Ended up DIY-ing a simple insulated box with foam board—cheap and effective enough. Maybe worth considering?

I've been down that road too—those insulated setups look slick, but the cost just didn't add up for me. Ended up building my own insulated box with leftover foam board from another project. Took maybe an afternoon, and it's held up fine through two winters now. If you're handy at all, might be worth a shot before dropping serious cash on something fancy...
