What should a smart-home installation quote break out?

When a professionally installed smart-home system is priced as one package, it’s hard to tell what’s included or compare it fairly with a quote that separates the work. Should a proposal itemize devices, low-voltage wiring, installation, programming, and commissioning, or are some of those normally bundled?

The device list and control areas can still change during design, so I’d also want to understand how revisions are priced. Are training, system documentation, and future service usually included, listed as separate line items, or handled through an ongoing support plan? What details have made quotes easier to compare without locking the design too early?
