Just finished going through the whole process of building a custom home step-by-step...picked land, hired architect, went through endless design tweaks, permits, contractors, etc. Honestly exhausting but rewarding. Wondering if anyone tackled this differently or has tips to simplify things?

Congrats on making it through that marathon—sounds like quite the journey. I've seen a lot of folks go down the custom-build rabbit hole, and while it's rewarding, I can't help but wonder if sometimes we overcomplicate things. Did you ever consider modular or prefab homes? I know, I know...they get a bad rap sometimes, but honestly, they've come a long way in terms of quality and sustainability. A friend of mine went modular last year—cut his build time nearly in half and managed to integrate some pretty impressive green tech without breaking the bank. Sure, you sacrifice some customization, but maybe that's not always such a bad thing? Curious if anyone else here has experience with modular builds or if you'd even consider going that route next time around.
