Thinking about installing a stone deck - what if weeds take over?
Been daydreaming about putting in a nice stone deck area in the backyard, but then I started thinking...what if weeds start popping up between the stones? Is it a constant battle or manageable? Curious how others handle this.

We put in a stone patio last spring, and yeah, weeds do pop up occasionally, but honestly, it's been pretty manageable. We laid down landscape fabric underneath and used polymeric sand between the stones - it's like regular sand but hardens when wet, which helps a ton. Every now and then, a stubborn weed sneaks through, but nothing a quick tug or spot spray can't handle. Definitely not the weed apocalypse I was expecting, lol...
Yeah, polymeric sand makes a huge difference. We did a similar setup about two years ago, and weeds have been minimal. One tip though - keep an eye on shaded corners; moisture tends to linger there, giving weeds a sneaky advantage... learned that the hard way.
