"though I admit, it'd be kinda cool if my fridge could sass me back when I'm grabbing ice cream at midnight."

Haha, now that I could get behind. But honestly, talking to my TV still feels weird. I built a smart mirror for the bathroom once, thinking it'd be handy to chat about weather or news while shaving...but nope, felt totally awkward. Maybe we're just not ready for full-on convos with our appliances yet?

I get what you're saying about the mirror—sounds cool in theory, but I can see how it'd feel weird in practice. I installed one of those voice-controlled shower systems for a client last year, and they were super excited at first. But when I checked back later, turns out they hardly ever used the voice commands. Said it felt awkward yelling "warmer" or "colder" at their shower head every morning, haha.

Maybe it's just that certain appliances lend themselves better to voice interaction than others? Like, I don't mind asking my speaker to play music or set timers, but chatting with my oven or washing machine would definitely cross into weird territory for me. Wonder if there's a line somewhere between convenience and awkwardness...

Yeah, seems like there's definitely a comfort zone with voice tech. I mean, asking Alexa to play music feels natural—but yelling commands at your fridge or toaster? Maybe we're just not quite there yet...

I get what you're saying, but honestly, even talking to Alexa still feels a bit weird to me sometimes. I tried voice commands with my TV once—ended up repeating myself three times before giving up and grabbing the remote. Felt like I was arguing with a stubborn toddler. Maybe it's just me, but until these devices actually understand me the first time around, I'll stick to buttons...

I get the frustration, but honestly, once you get used to voice commands, they're pretty handy. Took me a while too, but now I barely touch my remote. Maybe give it another shot—could save energy hunting for lost remotes...
