Title: If You Had To Rig Up Your Own Home Security On A Tight Budget, What Would You Do?

That’s spot on about the door frames—funny how many people drop hundreds on cameras but leave those flimsy little screws in their strike plates. I swapped mine out for 3-inchers after a neighbor’s place got kicked in. Took me maybe ten minutes and a couple bucks, but it feels way sturdier now.

I’m with you on the landscaping too. My grandma always had these nasty rose bushes under her windows, and nobody ever tried anything there. Not saying it’s foolproof, but it definitely makes things harder for anyone thinking about sneaking around.

Honestly, I think sometimes folks get caught up in fancy tech and forget the basics. A good lock, some cheap motion lights, and paying attention to the little stuff can go a long way. Doesn’t have to cost much if you’re willing to put in a bit of elbow grease.
