I’ve run into the same thing with a few “smart” upgrades—sometimes it’s just a fancier way to do what you were already doing. I tried automating my blinds and, honestly, it’s cool but didn’t change my life or my bills. Still, there’s something satisfying about making your space work for you, even if the payoff is mostly comfort and a bit of fun tech tinkering. Not everything needs to be about ROI, right?
