JUST PUT IN A NEW KITCHEN SINK AND WONDERING IF ANYONE ELSE STRUGGLED THIS MUCH

I get the appeal of composite sinks, but I’ve actually had better luck with stainless steel over the years. The composites I tried ended up getting scratched and stained way faster than I expected. Maybe I just got unlucky with the brand? Also, I kinda like the weight—makes it feel sturdier to me. Did you notice any noise difference with the lighter materials? My stainless one is a bit loud, but I’m used to it now.

Totally get where you’re coming from—installing a new sink is way more of a hassle than it looks on YouTube. I’ve had similar issues with composite ones too, especially with stains. Stainless is louder, yeah, but honestly, I’d rather deal with the noise than weird scratches or discoloration. At least you know what you’re getting.

Honestly, I thought I’d planned for everything, but lining up the drain and getting the caulk just right took way longer than I expected. I went with stainless too—partly because I read composite can chip if you drop something heavy. The noise is real, but I added those little pads underneath and it helped a bit. Still, I keep finding tiny water spots no matter how much I wipe it down... maybe that’s just part of the deal.

Did you try any of those stainless cleaners that claim to prevent water spots? I’ve seen mixed results with them, but sometimes a microfiber cloth makes a difference. Curious—did you consider a matte finish sink at all, or was it always going to be stainless for you?

Yeah, I’ve tried a couple of those cleaners—honestly, I can’t tell if they’re really doing anything or if it’s just the elbow grease and the cloth that matters. Microfiber does seem to help a bit, but I still get those annoying spots. I did look at matte sinks for a second, but they were all way pricier than basic stainless. Did you find any that were actually affordable? I kept thinking maybe I was missing some hidden gem brand or something...
