“Sometimes I think the story behind the piece is worth more than what I spent—or saved—on it.”
Couldn’t agree more with this. I’ve seen brand new builds packed with “perfect” furniture, but they always feel a bit sterile to me. There’s just something about a table with a few nicks or a chair that’s been around the block. And yeah, upcycling can get expensive if you’re not careful, but honestly, the end result usually feels way more personal. I’d take a slightly wobbly, character-filled piece over a cookie-cutter set any day.
