Keeping LEED records aligned when specified materials change
The credit threshold and the design requirement are separate checks. For insulation, a substitute might meet the applicable LEED criterion yet have a lower R-value than the project specified. That doesn’t automatically rule it out, but it means the design team should assess and document the performance change before accepting it, rather than treating credit eligibility as proof of equivalence.
