I’ve noticed people rarely talk about how much the type of lightbulb matters—not just the color temperature, but whether it’s LED, CFL, or even natural daylight. The eco-friendly bulbs can sometimes throw off colors in weird ways, especially greens and yellows. I’m curious if anyone here’s managed to find a paint-light combo that actually looks good *and* doesn’t wreck your energy bill? I keep ending up with rooms that feel right in the morning but look totally washed out by evening. There’s gotta be a happy medium, right?

Totally get this. LEDs are notorious for making certain paint shades look sickly or flat—especially those soft sage greens everyone loves until sunset hits. I’ve had luck pairing warm-white LEDs (2700K-ish) with muted earth tones; they seem to play nicer together and avoid that “washed out by evening” effect you mentioned. It’s not perfect, but hey, at least my living room doesn’t feel like a hospital corridor after dark…
