Home Network Wiring—Worth the Hassle or Just Go Wireless?

Been thinking about finally getting my home network sorted properly. Right now, it's a mess of cables, routers, and random extenders plugged in everywhere...you know how it goes. I'm tempted to bite the bullet and get proper wiring installed behind walls and stuff, but is it really worth the hassle and cost these days? Or should I just stick with Wi-Fi mesh setups? Curious if anyone's done this recently and has thoughts or regrets.

Running cable behind crown molding isn't too bad if you're careful. I've found the key is cutting small notches or grooves into the back side of the molding at corners, so the cable fits snug without bulging. Doorways are trickier...usually I drop down to baseboard level and run it underneath the threshold trim—less noticeable that way. Curious though, anyone tried those flat ethernet cables? Wondering if they're actually easier to hide neatly...
