Building my dream home: went with a one-time close loan—anyone else try this route?

Finally closed on our new build last month using a single-close construction-to-permanent loan, and I gotta say, it made things way less stressful than juggling two closings. The process wasn’t all smooth sailing (lots of paperwork... like, SO much), but not having to re-qualify for a mortgage halfway through was a huge relief. Curious if anyone else has done this, or maybe went the traditional two-step construction loan path? Did it work out as well for you?

Outlets and switches are the sneakiest details... I’ve seen people tape out their furniture layouts on the subfloor just to double-check where everything should go.

That’s honestly the best advice. I thought I had every outlet planned, but ended up wishing I’d added a couple more in the living room. It’s wild how those little things make a difference once you move in. The paperwork is a pain, but you’ll be glad you sweated the details.
